Our Church Government
We are governed by the constitution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). It is a
representative style of government in which members are elected by the congregation
to serve as Elder.
The Session oversees the spiritual and business affairs of the congregation. It is made
up of 5 "Ruling" Elders, who serve a three-year term. The pastor moderates the board
and is traditionally called the "Teaching Elder". As Tyrone is a small congregation, our
session also oversees its compassionate ministries.
Our Church Committees
Each of our Elders serves as chairperson for one of our committees, which include:
Building and Grounds, Christian Education, Congregational Care and Mission, Finance,
and Worship and Personnel.
